Petra Airlines was founded in 2005 by a team of Businessmen and industry veterans with extensive travel and aviation experience and started its operations early 2011. It is part of Rum Group (which includes Rum Trans, Rum Hotels, Rum Tours, and Petra Airlines).
The Airline was created in line with Rum Group’s the strategic guidelines of Rum Group, which promote the delivery of integrated comprehensive services in the field of travel and tourism; and with a long term vision that takes into consideration Jordan’s gateway possibilities and its potential for attracting a great number of tourism business.
The company is based in Amman, the capital of Jordan, one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the Middle East. It was created to fill an emerging opportunity in the travel markets of the Middle East, Europe, Far East, and beyond.
